Our commitment to reducing our environmental impact is integrated into our day-to-day business operations and is as much part of our culture as our four core values – professionalism, friendliness, creativity and integrity.
As property advisers to owners, occupiers and developers, we are conscious of the problems created by an increasingly industrialised world and so ensure that when advising clients and in the course of our professional work, we give consideration to environmental issues.
We also seek to ensure that our suppliers’ environmental credentials are considered in the supplier tender process and that, where appropriate, environmental criteria are used in the award of contracts. We encourage our proposed and existing suppliers to introduce environmentally friendly processes and products, and to ensure consideration is given to the cost and benefits of sustainable alternatives.
Our environmental objectives
- To maintain an Environmental Management System satisfying the requirements of our ISO14001:2004 accreditation, which forms the framework for achieving continuous improvement through regular set objectives and monitoring our environmental performance.
- To strive to prevent pollution and minimise the impact of our activities upon the environment in the delivery of our services and where applicable, e.g. cutting down energy usage and travel and minimal paper printing among others.
- To reduce waste generation through re-use and recycling wherever practical and dispose of all waste responsibly and safely.
- To remain up-to-date and comply with relevant environmental legislation and adopt best practice and guidelines.
- To focus on the requirements of our clients, establishing levels of communication capable of fully determining their needs and expectations.
- To document, implement and maintain an optimum understanding of environmental risk and impact associated with our activities and communicate these to our stakeholders (as appropriate) through training and promoting awareness of environmental issues.
- To continue to promote our environmental policy and objectives to our employees.
All Gerald Eve LLP employees are encouraged to support and cooperate with the objectives as laid out above.
To ensure that these aims and objectives are achieved, the Managing Partner has ultimate responsibility for the firm’s environmental policy and its implementation, assisted by the firm’s facilities manager and office administrators in our regional offices.
