Alan is an associate, based in Milton Keynes. He has specialised in asset management for over 15 years and joined Gerald Eve in April 2001 when Whitbread outsourced their property asset management. He has considerable valuation and corporate property asset management experience, in particular within the leisure and brewing industries.
Specific experience
Provides a full asset management service to InBev UK and Whitbread, involving strategic planning, asset valuations, disposals, acquisitions, development, rating, landlord & tenant and day-to-day estate management
Interbrew instruction covers all mainland UK properties ranging from substantial breweries to small depots; he also coordinates all security valuations
For Whitbread, responsible for the corporate offices’ portfolio including the HQ building at City Point, manages all Whitbread’s Capital Gains Tax valuations and conducts central negotiations with the Inland Revenue
Up to the disposal of the portfolio, managed Whitbread Pension Fund’s properties
Prior to Gerald Eve, managed Whitbread’s teams providing full asset management service covering the North East, North West and Scotland
Managed the rating process for Whitbread and led a procurement exercise to rationalise all aspects of appeals, payments, rebates etc
Lead Whitbread surveyor when brewing business was sold to Interbrew
Alan started his career with the Valuation Office where he was team leader for the Leeds City Centre, and had regional responsibility for licensed property, breweries and airports; he was involved in the re-organisation of the licensed property section and lectured on national training courses.
