Carl is an associate chartered building surveyor in our building consultancy department based in Birmingham. He has over 18 years’ experience within the commercial property sector acting on behalf of a diverse range of owners and occupiers.
Specific experience
Project management, contact administration and employer’s agent – advising clients on construction proposals for various property types and uses from inception through to the completion of works on site, including advice on procurement methods, statutory approvals and contractual matters
Development monitoring – providing monitoring services and advice for a variety of interested parties including funding organisations and occupiers
Dilapidations – providing advice to both landlords and tenants in respect of dilapidations liabilities and claims, including the preparation and negotiation of claims relating to various building types and uses
Schedules of condition – preparing and agreeing schedules of condition to protect tenant or landlord interests in connection with commercial property leases
Surveys – inspecting a wide range of building types and uses to assist with commercial decision making.
Building maintenance and conservation – inspecting various property types including listed and historic buildings to establish both immediate and longer term maintenance requirements, obtaining statutory consents and the specification and procurement of remedial and preventative maintenance works
Building defect analysis – investigation of specific building defects and advice on remedial works
Building reinstatement cost assessments – preparation of assessments for insurance purposes on a wide range of commercial property types
