Jim joined the firm in 1999, having worked for architectural practices in Birmingham and the South West and as a project manager for GEC Tarmac Railway Maintenance. He has brought this experience to Gerald Eve and related it to the diverse requirements of our varied client list.
Specific experience
Contract administration and project management – from feasibility through to hand-over, providing advice and professional administration services on a variety of complex and time critical commercial and industrial refurbishments
Project monitoring – advising a variety of clients on construction proposals and thereafter overseeing works undertaken to a wide range of commercial property types and uses
Development monitoring – for a variety of interested parties, including funding organisations and prospective occupiers
Surveys – inspecting a wide range of building types and uses to assist with commercial decision making
Schedules of condition – preparing and agreeing schedules of condition and similar vehicles to limit or protect tenants’ or landlords’ interests within the scope of traditional commercial leases
Reinstatement cost assessments – inspecting and calculating reinstatement valuations for diverse property types and portfolios, for buildings’ insurance purposes
Building regulation, planning and other statutory applications – assisting clients in complying with their statutory obligations, both with regard to one-off projects and the day-to-day management of commercial property
