Michael is partner in charge of national building consultancy. He has extensive experience and specialises in providing construction consultancy advice to owners, occupiers and investors in commercial property. He is responsible for a building consultancy team which provides a broad spectrum of expertise, which is reflected in their approach to professional work.
With a background which commenced in construction before working for a highly commercial agency company, Michael brings a balanced understanding of the professional and technical advice required by developers, owners and occupiers of commercial real estate.
Specific experience
Strategic development and project management advice to a leading consumer goods manufacturer with regard to site acquisition and development of a new £26m manufacturing and research and development facility
Represented major investors in monitoring high profile developments in office, industrial and hotel sectors for clients including; Matrix Securities, CBRE Investors and Nomura
Project managed various new build refurbishment and fit-out schemes for investors, developers and tenants in the legal and financial sector
Provided senior level PFI and procurement advice on a £120m new student residential scheme for Lancaster University including specific construction and sustainability matters
Specialises in co-ordinating specific skills in the technical and commercial evaluation of property, he has assisted in the acquisition of major portfolios within the UK and Europe, including Abbey, Le Meridien Hotels, Center Parcs and Toys R Us
Acted for banks including RBS, NatWest, Barclays and HBOS in providing strategic construction and technical advice on diverse projects which include developer MBOs, mixed use redevelopment, new build schemes and residential developments
