Neil is a partner in our planning and development department in the West End. He provides planning advice on all matters relating to the development process for a wide range of landowners, developers and potential occupiers. Through his involvement in some of the largest regeneration projects in the UK, Neil has a thorough understanding of both the strategic and detailed design matters which need to be considered, in order to achieve the objectives of the client.
Neil is particularly experienced in matters concerning central London where his spectrum of work ranges from advising on proposals for major regeneration schemes through to the promotion of applications in some of London’s most historic and sensitive areas.
Specific experience
Major regeneration schemes – has advised on some of the largest and highest value regeneration schemes in the UK, advising clients such as Quintain Estates and Development, Land Securities, Prudential, the Peugeot Motor Company and the Ford Motor Company.
Central London development – advises on all aspects of central London development for clients such as the Cadogan Estate, Soho Estates, Quintain Estates and Development, Land Securities, Delancey, Glebe Holdings and Workspace Group Plc.
Residential Development – specific experience of advising on residential LED schemes for both house builders and developers including application strategy, affordable housing issues and detailed design matters.
Student Housing – acts on behalf of both operators and developers advising on all aspects of student housing matters including policy application, scheme design and planning obligations.
Retail development – advises on both town centre and out of centre retail matters ranging from major town centre expansion schemes through to ongoing portfolio management matters for both landowners, developers and occupiers. Clients include Fenwick, Freeport Leisure, House of Fraser, Land Securities, Standard Life Investments and Quintain Estates and Development.
Historic Environment – instructed to advise on some of the most prestigious historic buildings and sites in the UK including Kensington Palace and the Tower of London.
Expert Witness – appearing as expert witness at Public Local Inquiries, Development Plan EiP’s, land tribunals and CPO inquiries.
