Simon is a partner in our corporate property management team based in the West End. He has specialised in the retail sector for more than ten years and is currently focusing on the Whitbread estate with sole responsibility for Costa Coffee which has over 1,200 properties in the UK.
Specific experience
Since joining the firm in 2007, Simon has advised corporate clients including Marks & Spencer, Gondola and Whitbread, as well as a number of companies with smaller estates, on property management matters. This has included a number of portfolio reviews to identify both opportunities and issues, whilst also being used to inform ongoing estate strategy.
Simon works closely with his existing client undertaking and advising on asset management cost control, including, disposals of surplus assets, rent review negotiation, lease renewals, re-gears, and general estate management. This has involved developing a close, collaborative working relationship with the client to earn their trust to advise, challenge and defend the issues that arise to help develop their business. A crucial part of delivering this service involves overseeing a large team of surveyors based throughout Gerald Eve’s offices along with a number of other external parties.
