Client: British Energy - Slough
Nuclear power generator British Energy recently asked us to source some short-term office accommodation for them in the Slough area, which would provide ready access to their existing central London office and major office facility in Barnwood, Gloucestershire.
They asked our Business Space team to identify and negotiate terms on some short-term office space. The brief was to-the-point. It had to be conveniently located, well specified internally, value for money, and ready to occupy within one month of instruction.
The timescale was tight but our knowledge of the M4 Corridor market was critical to this requirement and enabled us to shortlist suitable locations very quickly. The timespan for the requirement once up and running was unknown so we knew that serviced offices would be a good option for them, and at the same time, we knew that landlords in Slough – a currently oversupplied market – would be flexible on rental payments.
We negotiated a 2,500 sq ft short-term, serviced office for them within the months’ deadline.
