Client: Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)
The DVLA has expanded its range of services significantly in recent years, and now employs over 1000 people on a large campus of seven buildings on Telelink Park in Swansea Vale. Our Cardiff office has advised the organisation on its latest three acquisitions on the site.
Telelink Park is a private public partnership between Sandringham Investments Pension Fund, the Welsh Development Agency and City & County of Swansea. With very specific property requirements to meet its evolving technological requirements, our role was to complete pre-let and pre-sale negotiations with the developers.
The solution
The latest two phases have seen three buildings completed. The 70,000 sq ft Contact Centre was developed by Sandringham Investments. The 20,000 sq ft Innovation Facility was developed by Sylfaen Construction and incorporates a state of the art audiovisual zone with complementary demonstration, production and café areas, whilst the 20,000 sq ft Learning Facility which provides a further 20,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation was also built by Sylfaen.
We negotiated the pre-let agreements and purchase agreements on the DVLA’s behalf and ensured they were on terms that were favourable to our client.
Results
The delivery of these three high profile buildings totalling more than 110,000 sq ft has ensured that the DVLA has a modern, innovative facility in Swansea, from which it can operate for years to come.
