Client: Unison, Euston Road

Gerald Eve LLP was appointed by Unison to provide strategic planning advice and development viability advice in respect of the proposed redevelopment of the site to provide a mix of commercial and residential accommodation. The commercial element of the building would be used by Unison as its new Headquarters.

Located on the northern side of the Euston Road, the redevelopment of the site included Grade II listed buildings and was identified on the English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register. It provided an excellent opportunity to regenerate the listed buildings and remove the unattractive ancillary hospital buildings.

Extensive negotiations with the London Borough of Camden were held to agree the complex existing land use of the site and the heritage and conservation issues surround the refurbishment of the listed buildings and design of the replacement residential and office buildings.

Planning permission and listed building consent were granted.
