Our Building Surveyors were instructed to undertake a full building survey of a large department store in Windsor.
The freehold owners were proposing to sell the freehold interest of the property and required a report on its form of construction and principal defects to form part of the vendor’s sales package.
The overall floor area extends to approximately 6,488m² (69,810ft²) with retail accommodation over the basement, ground, first and second floors with parts of the second and entire third floor comprising staff offices and stock rooms.
Through a detailed inspection of the property in its entirety, carried out over a weekend to avoid any disruption to trading, our building surveyors were able to provide a detailed report, which proved instrumental in negotiations over the sale of the property for the freehold owner. The property has since been sold to a developer.
