Client: Kenmore Property Group
South Wales Distribution Centre was originally constructed in the 1970s for automotive group, Borg Warner as a 270,000 sq ft production facility.
It was bought by Kenmore Property Group, who undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the unit, and appointed us as joint disposing agents for the property.
The solution The main strengths of the property was its proximity to the M4, its size and the flexible lease terms on which it could be offered to the occupier market. Knowing that online retailer, Amazon, was having technical difficulties with the construction of its new bespoke distribution unit in Swansea, we approached Amazon with an opportunity to acquire temporary space at the South Wales Distribution Centre.
Results Amazon acquired 170,000 sq ft on an all inclusive basis to service the extra customer demand expected over the Christmas period.
