Client: National Grid
Gerald Eve is on National Grid’s panel of approved consultants for property services, which means we are one of only a few firms able to advise the company on a whole range of professional, management and agency matters in the UK.
Formed from a merger between British Gas (gas distributor) and National Grid (electricity distributor), the main factor driving its property strategy in recent years has been the deregulation of the energy sectors in the late 1990’s. Competition from other providers has led the company to reduce the size of its non-operational portfolio, particularly its retail outlets and depots. And like many utility companies, it has benefited from the sale of surplus land for redevelopment purposes.
National Grid chose us for its panel because of our experience within the utility sector where we advise the likes of npower, PowerGen, Scottish & Southern Energy, Scottish Power, United Utilities and Yorkshire Electricity.
