ProLogis is a global provider of distribution warehousing, owning or managing over 2,500 warehouses across the world. In each country, including the UK, it competes with other key warehousing developers to secure new sites and tenants for its developments.
These multi-million pound investments require careful consideration - and therefore hard facts and analysis. ProLogis turned to our research team to assist it with reading and monitoring trends in the UK logistics market.
The solution
The first element of our research is to undertake a regular comprehensive data collection exercise for ProLogis. This ensures it has the up-to-date market information required to compare locations, assess valuations or rental levels in any distribution location in the UK.
Our research team also provides ProLogis with bespoke reports on topical issues. Most recently, we have completed a report on the effect of internet retailing on supply chains. This was used as the basis for an industry seminar at the Shed Show 2008, and as an information tool distributed to ProLogis’ tenants across the world.
Results
Over the last 24 months, Gerald Eve has advised ProLogis on over five site acquisitions and disposals in key distribution locations across the UK totalling over 500 acres (200 ha) of B8 distribution land, assisted by the analysis of our research team.
