Client: Ramada Jarvis Hotels, Manchester
Ramada Jarvis occupy the Piccadilly Hotel which is a 270 bedroom hotel in the centre of Manchester overlooking Piccadilly Gardens. There had been a number of new hotels opening in the city centre. This had a detrimental impact on the trade of the hotel.
Approach
An appeal was served against the Rateable Value £375,000. By analysing the fall in trade from all the sources of income available to the hotel we were able to prove that the aforementioned changes had impacted upon trade.
Result
A reduction in the RV was agreed at £270,000. This resulted in a saving of over £137,500 over the duration of the rating list.
