The Co-operative Group has an investment portfolio of commercial property, which includes a retail store in Cranleigh, near Guildford. The property is let to Moss Chemists and in seeking to achieve a maximum uplift in rent, the Co-operative Group asked our retail experts to negotiate the forthcoming rent review on its behalf.
Our solution
The property was located at the eastern end of the High street and adjacent to a walkway leading to the Co-op supermarket , it was set back from the main frontage. However, the outcome reflected previous re ntal value.
Results
We secured an increase of nearly 50% for the Co-operative Group, translating into over £100,000 for the five year period until the next review.
