Gerald Eve provide Whitbread with a full corporate property management service. In 2006, it decided to sells it portfolio of 235 standalone restaurants to Mitchells and Butlers for £497m.
Our role was to provide certificates of title for the full portfolio of 235 sites plus four pipeline sites.
The solution
Our bespoke property management database, Retrieve, holds the factual information relating to all of Whitbread’s portfolio, so using this, together with our unique, in depth knowledge of the estate we could readily provide full information on all of the sites as part of a total property disposal management service.
The results
Working closely with the client’s solicitors, we were able to complete the sale within a very precise timescale so that the sale could be announced with their half year results and with the minimum of fuss for the client.
