Gerald Eve LLP Planning and Development were appointed by Carlsberg UK to advise on the planning, development and disposal of the former Wrexham Brewery site, Wrexham.

Gerald Eve LLP orchestrated the planning strategy for the site, making representations against the emerging 2002 Wrexham County Borough Council Local Plan to serve an allocation for retail warehousing on the site. Gerald Eve LLP represented Carlsberg at the Local Plan inquiry in autumn 2002.

Having identified and implemented a planning strategy, we undertook targeted marketing of the site to selected regional developers in a competitive bid process. Liberty Properties Plc was identified as the preferred partner and we structured a conditional development agreement for Liberty to serve detailed planning permission for the scheme and oversee implantation.

Gerald Eve LLP undertook revisions to the development agreement to facilitate forward funding of the development by AXA Sun Life. The scheme reached practical completion in 2006.
