Industrial properties range from relatively straightforward properties like factories or manufacturing facilities, through to heavy industrial properties like steelworks, paper mills, engineering and chemical plants, shipyards and ports.

As the UK continues to shift towards a service economy, these sorts of properties are becoming more rare. Often covering acres of land with very specialist plant and machinery, there are few advisers able to offer genuine experience in such properties.
We do. We are very proud to have advised many stalwarts of UK industry, including Anglesey Aluminium, BAE Systems, Corus, Ford, Michelin Tyre, Peugeot and Unilever. A team of 20 people specialise in this heavy industrial sector, providing a range of professional advice to help keep property costs down. It might include appealing business rates assessments, or negotiating rent reviews. But our range of services also includes valuation, capital gains tax negotiations, planning and development advice and building consultancy.

The sale of surplus land has provided many of our clients with opportunities to create value. The size and complexities of the sites, and planning and financing obstacles are initially a daunting prospect, but perseverance and a long-term view pay great dividends, as shown in some of the case studies on this page.
