Our team of mineral and waste management surveyors are based in Leeds and London but provide specialist advice in the UK and throughout the world. Our clients include Holcim (Aggregate Industries) and Anglo American (Tarmac) in the minerals sector, and Veolia and Shanks in the waste management sector.
Our team has been involved in valuation and due diligence work in sales of businesses, instructed by purchasers, sellers, lenders and their lawyers, consultants and other advisers.
We are pro-active in monitoring new and emerging UK and EU legislation and directives and understand the impact of these measures upon our client’s businesses. We have been active in lobbying, through our membership of national bodies such as the CBI and QPA.
We provide a wide range of advice to the minerals and waste management industries, not just in terms of holes in the ground, but the myriad of other property types typically occupied.
We focus on valuation, capital and rental/royalty, of mineral bearing land/landfill void as well as the management issues which flow therefrom. Over the last 12 months we have advised clients on compensation, compulsory purchase, rent and royalty reviews, Balance sheet and loan security valuation and lease management.
In the context of rating, we are instructed to mitigate rate liability on more property within the mineral and waste management sectors than any other firm. Not only that, but we provide a complete Rates Payment Management Service for the likes of Tarmac and Shanks where we have taken over as ‘ratepayer’ and pay monthly rate bills through our bespoke systems. This will form a significant part of our work in the forthcoming 2010 Rating Revaluation.
If you are interested in meeting us, our team will be attending both the Waste 2008 (www.waste2008.com) and Living with Minerals 3 (www.cbi.org.uk/livingwithminerals3) conferences in September and November respectively. Details to follow on our events page.
