MAY STEP CHALLENGE

To encourage health & wellbeing whilst we are working from home, the Vitality Champions Liana Kiteow and Vicci Farrow will be running a step challenge this May. As we have limited ability to get outdoors, we want to encourage you to be active at home and a little competition is good for the soul too.

How it works?

From 1 May 2020, Vitality will collect the step data from your device and will share your step count with us each week. Once received, the Vitality Champions will share the leader board with those who have signed up to participate.

Click here to find out how to sync your device to your Vitality account.

Here are some tips to help you increase your steps at home:

  1. If you can, and always keeping government guidance into account, make sure you take advantage of the opportunity to leave the house once per day for a walk or run keeping 2m away from others;
  2. If you have them, take to the stairs between meetings or on a regular basis to get moving;
  3. Take a moving break, wander around for a moment, or wander with purpose to make a cuppa;
  4. Walk and talk: it is important to stay connected now more than ever but we are no longer constrained by phone cords, take a walk around your home whilst you have a natter;
  5. Do a home workout or jog on the spot to get your heart racing too;
  6. Housewalking: start walking on the spot whenever you can: Brushing your teeth? Housewalk! Texting? Housewalk! Watching TV? Housewalk!; and/or
  7. Housework: not always a popular activity however, housework is a good way to get the whole body moving and increasing your steps.

To enter the step challenge, please fill in the form below. By filling in this form you consent to Vitality Health sharing your step data with Gerald Eve LLP between 1 May and 31 May 2020.
