Property consultancy Gerald Eve has secured planning permission on behalf of Canmoor Developments for a new warehouse facility in St Helens, Merseyside.
Gerald Eve provided strategic planning advice to Canmoor on a 166,846 sq ft (15,500 sq m) warehouse on Rainford Industrial Estate in the town. The premises is to be occupied by Dresser UK, which plans to relocate its operation from Skelmersdale, and will see a total of 215 new jobs brought to the area and the introduction of an apprenticeship scheme for school-leavers. Construction is underway, with the facility expected to be fully operational by the end of 2012.
Harry Spawton, planning partner at Gerald Eve’s Manchester office, comments: “This scheme came with a number of planning challenges, so it is particularly satisfying to secure permission, especially so when the jobs the project will support are taken into account.”
The granting of permission came at a time of increased activity for Gerald Eve, which recently moved to strengthen its Manchester planning team with the appointments of Clare Pilling and Dominic Page.
Harry Spawton adds: “There’s growing demand for specialist planning advice and these appointments are a result of a rise in the new instructions Gerald Eve is winning, allied to the firm’s strategy of strengthening advisory teams to provide the very best service possible across all of our disciplines.”
