Gerald Eve to manage all aspects of rating across serviced office group’s UK portfolio

Flexible workspace provider Regus PLC has appointed property consultancy Gerald Eve to manage the rating activity across its UK network of business centres.

Under the new instruction, Gerald Eve will oversee appeals against business rates assessments and manage the payments due for Regus’ UK locations from the forthcoming April 2017 revaluation onwards.

With 363 locations in more than 200 cities and towns throughout the UK, and a total rateable value in excess of £130 million in the 2010 rating list, Regus is one of the country’s largest payers of business rates.

Richard Morris of Regus said: “Gerald Eve’s unrivalled expertise, large portfolio experience and successful appeals track record make it the obvious choice for business rates advice, with its rates payments management system adding a further level of service that both simplifies our administration and reduces our costs.”

Steve Hile, partner at Gerald Eve, said: “By its very nature, Regus’ UK portfolio is complex and disparate, requiring a genuine understanding of both the business rates system and the individual markets in which each location operates. With our national network of specialists and unparalleled insight, Gerald Eve is uniquely well-placed to advise Regus on what is one of the UK’s largest aggregate business rates liabilities.”

With the UK’s largest business rates advisory team, working from nine offices, Gerald Eve is the market-leading rating specialist, advising more than a quarter of FTSE 100 firms and saving clients £2.2 billion since 2010.
