SIMON PRICHARD NAMED CHAIR OF RICS’ UK & IRELAND BOARD

The Board is RICS’ highest leadership group, overseeing the profession in the UK and Ireland. The UK & Ireland Board plays a crucial role in RICS’ modernised governance structure, supporting the global Governing Council and Management Board by providing market insight and assisting in strategy development.

During his three-year term as chair, Simon will work with the Board to ensure that the standards and professional expertise of the surveying profession are trusted, valued and adopted by the marketplace. He will take up the role at the end of August, succeeding Professor Fiona Grant FRICS of Heriot Watt University.

Simon Prichard said: “I’m honoured to be appointed to this role and excited to be helping lead the profession. From encouraging increased numbers of young people and a more diverse range of individuals into the profession, through to ensuring international standards are adopted and working to make the sector more sustainable, there is a huge amount that RICS is doing in the UK and Ireland. Along with the rest of the Board, I’m looking forward to supporting this work.

Simon was appointed senior partner of Gerald Eve in 2015, in addition to which he is responsible for the investment and agency transactions for London and South East offices. Since being appointed senior partner, he has focused on promoting a more diverse work environment, together with modernising the firm’s practices. He sits on Gerald Eve’s Executive Board, is Chairman of the firm’s Diversity Committee, and is a member of the Academic Board of The University College of Estate Management.
