Kate is an Associate in the firm’s Planning and Development team based in London. She specialises in providing financial analysis to land owners and developers as part of the development consulting process, both inside and outside of London. She provides advice for a wide range of mixed use and residential development proposals on behalf of public and private sector clients, with a particular focus on central London. Kate’s experience has a strong residential focus and she has supported several major development opportunities through the viability process, often working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Specific experience

Financial Viability in Planning – preparation of detailed financial justification reports and accompanying appraisals to ensure the creation of deliverable financial solutions to complex planning and development issues, including ensuring affordable housing planning policies do not inhibit the delivery of residential development. Analysis has regard to land use policies, site and infrastructure constraints, on-site and off-site affordable housing (and payments in lieu thereof) and heritage issues.  Major clients include Lodha Group, Galliard Homes, London & Quadrant and Henley Homes.

Due Diligence – due diligence assessment of financial viability assessments as submitted in support of a planning application. Preparation of report to the Council on the acceptability and appropriateness of the information and analysis provided. Major clients include Westminster City Council, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Brighton and Hove.

Affordable Housing – preparing affordable housing strategies for major developments including justification for cascade mechanisms, off-site provision and payment in lieu.
