Louise is a Senior Planner in our Planning and Development team based in Manchester. Louise has 15 years of town planning experience including 6 years in our London office working predominantly on central London development schemes. She advises and assists landowners and developers on potential development proposals and the preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications in respect of a wide range of existing and proposed planning uses and sites. Louise also advises on progressing sites through the Development Plan process with regards to new emerging planning policies, and the allocation of sites for future development.

Specific experience

Taylor Wimpey, Salford – planning advice in connection with the redevelopment of a school site for residential use. Pre-application work undertaken along with preparation, submission and negotiation of a detailed planning application for housing on the brownfield site. Key planning issues included the loss of a locally listed building, ecology and design.

AB InBev (UK), Preston and South Wales – ongoing preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications, along with discharge of conditions to improve and expand facilities at the company’s UK brewery sites.

Amazon UK, Rugeley – advised on major external access arrangements in connection with the expansion of an Amazon warehouse in Rugeley. Worked closely with highways consultants and the client to deliver a planning permission within tight time constraints.

Bedford College, Bedford – obtained planning permission for a new three storey College Technology Building incorporating workshops. Worked closely with the architects during the design of the building and instructed and managed sub-consultants to prepare documents required as part of the planning permission. Negotiated where possible for conditions to be post-commencement in order to facilitate the start of construction on site.

The Graham Estate, York – advised on a development scheme for the change of use of a vacant hotel to eighteen residential units on the upper floors, and flexible Class A uses on the ground floor in York City Centre. Prepared and submitted the planning application and negotiated the application through to the grant of planning permission.
