William is a Senior Associate building surveyor working within the Birmingham Building Consultancy team. He has almost 20 years’ experience in commercial and public sector property, acting on behalf of a wide range of property owners, occupiers and local authorities.
Reinstatement Cost Assessments
RCA’s undertaken on a wide range of property types including portfolios and estates. Most recently including 18 Wolseley depots; 50+ buildings at Bristol Airport; 28 properties at Grazebrook Industrial Park, Dudley; Lower Kings Mill paper mill in Somerset.
States of Guernsey Education Department – William played a key role in devising, implementing and managing the EDP1 ten-year Planned Preventative Maintenance survey of the portfolio of state schools in Guernsey, comprising approximately 25 primary and secondary schools and undertaken in two phases. In addition to managing the process, including the M&E consultancy, William carried out a number of the surveys, compiled and QA checked the report content and presented the overall findings to the States Education Department.
Sussex University – PMP survey of the entire campus, including teaching and residential accommodation, totalling some 60 buildings; Cotswold District Council – Ten-year PMP including building and M&E for the estate of 80 premises including schools, leisure centres, museums and offices.
Abingdon & Witney College – feasibility study for proposed premises relocation/
Undertaking and coordination of a large portfolio of 800 planned maintenance surveys of the Department for Work and Pensions estate in connection with the PFI transfer to LandSecurities Trillium; Secondment to Kvaerner to project manage an extensive survey programme in relation to refurbishment of MoD Main Building, Whitehall and Listed decant buildings; Vale of White Horse DC – five-year PMP surveys of school sports facilities and leisure centres at Abingdon, Wantage and Faringdon; HM Prison Parc – 5 year PMP survey of a prison housing 1,000 inmates.
Building surveys in the UK and Europe of office, industrial, educational and retail premises for a variety of parties including investors, occupiers and local authorities. Student accommodation surveys on behalf of Unite and others.
For a variety of clients and building types including: Rygor Commercials – project management of £1.5m new-build commercial vehicle showroom and truck workshops in Swindon; EMI – strip-out of CD production facility in Swindon; repair and maintenance works to occupied premises on behalf of Speedy Hire and Thorntons; Spaceplanning and project management of fit-outs for Energy Solutions (Swindon) and Fosseway Housing Association (Cirencester).
