We have four core values that govern the way we interact with one another and the people we work for. These values reflect our vision and underpin our business strategy.
TRUST & INTEGRITY – Lie at the heart of our business.
RESPECT – We respect individuals’ strengths and build complementary teams.
FRIENDLINESS –Â Friendship, happiness at work and a sense of humour are central to our culture.
EXCELLENCE –Â We aim to provide a quality of service that is second to none.
At Gerald Eve we understand that people are happier, more motivated and perform better when they can express their own identities. Ensuring that we can all be ourselves, while working as a team, simply makes good business sense. Gerald Eve were one of the early adopters of the RICS Inclusive Employer Quality Mark signalling our commitment to improving inclusivity by adhering to the six key principles as set by RICS. We also partner with a number of external diversity networks such as Stonewall, Changing the Face of Property, Change100, 10,000 Black Interns, Daisy Chain, Freehold
Gerald Eve’s Diversity Steering Committee, which is made up of fee earning and business services staff from across our business, is tasked with leveraging opportunities to attract and retain a diverse workforce. The committee is dedicated to creating and enhancing an inclusive workplace culture where diversity is not only accepted but valued and built into the culture of our firm.
We offer a healthy and competitive salary, as well as a joining bonus, interest-free loans and participation in the Staff Profit Share (SPS) scheme.
We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, pension and wellbeing allowance, amongst other things.
We provide lots of opportunities to get involved in all kinds of activities, from social gatherings and firm events through to joining one of the many sports teams. We also have a number of networking groups across the business that you may put yourself forward for, from the Diversity and Inclusion committee, the Green Ambassadors Network, Innovation Group, CSR Committee, Mini Board and more.
We always want to hear the ideas from our people so we encourage everyone to participate in a network close to their heart, if they so wish. Joining a network is also a fantastic way to meet others from across the firm, at all levels of seniority and from all sectors and disciplines.
At Gerald Eve we take employee wellbeing seriously. We were awarded Vitality’s healthiest new entrant award in 2019 and in 2020 won the award of Best Healthcare and Wellbeing benefits at the Employee Benefits awards. We also run regular initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle. In 2019 we signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment launched by Mind, a commitment which provides a framework for employers who recognise the importance of promoting staff wellbeing. We have both Wellbeing Champions and Mental Health First Aiders across the business who help to raise awareness of mental health and drive forward change to help to break down stigma in the workplace and help instigate initiatives to improve wellbeing amongst their colleagues.
We aim as much as possible to host webinars and events during working hours to give our colleagues a break from the day to day working life, from virtually meeting llamas, having a cook-along, listening to Vitality Champions (including Olympic winners), through to listening to a sleep scientist and mediation experts.
Gerald Eve prides itself on our commitment to our own people, our local communities and other stakeholders. At both a firm and an individual level, we have initiated and participate in a number of fundraising events.  Many of our staff have their own favourite charities and take on incredible challenges to raise money for them. Wherever we can, we aim to help these individual efforts. These have ranged from sponsored bike rides to parachute jumps, triathlons and overseas treks. In addition, our volunteer programme offers staff the opportunity to provide expertise, advice, time and mentoring to various voluntary and not-for-profit groups within work hours.
Gerald Eve is a foundation partner of Landaid, the property industry’s charity, and every 2 years we also provide dedicated support to a new firm-nominated charity. In recent times, we have supported Spread Some Sunshine as from 2021, our new charity partner is Their Voice, a charity that raises awareness of the different forms of modern slavery and provides practical everyday gifts to women and children in safe houses, including toiletries, toys and stationery.
