I’m a Partner in our Planning and Development department based in the West End. I specialise in advising on land assembly for town centre regeneration and infrastructure projects, in particular the use of compulsory purchase.

I act on behalf of acquiring authorities in acquiring land either in advance of powers or following the service of statutory notices. I also act for claimants in negotiations and the submission of claims.

I was previously at Deloitte where I acted for High Speed Two (HS2), local authorities and regeneration bodies. Traditionally from a valuation background, having spent the first decade of my career in the Midlands market, I have valued a variety of UK (and Channel Islands) based assets across the commercial property sector for a range of purposes.

My clients include: Chrisp Street Developments Limited / Poplar HARCA , London Borough of Brent, London Borough of Lambeth and Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Limited.

I act for claimants on acquisitions by High Speed Two (HS2), Highways England, Thames Tideway Tunnel, Crossrail and acquiring authorities who make compulsory purchase orders for town centre regeneration schemes.

 

MY RECENT PROJECTS

  • HS2 – I acted for HS2 in advance of Royal Assent of the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) Bill on the acquisition of land and property between 2012 and 2017.  Claimants included domestic and international courier businesses and offshore special purpose investment vehicles; in excess of £100m was spent.
  • M42 Improvements Junction 6 – I act for the National Exhibition Centre Limited in respect of the Development Consent Order (DCO) which was accepted for examination by the Planning Inspectorate in January 2019.
  • Various schemes (Poplar)I have negotiated the advance settlements of compensation across schemes in Poplar including the relocation of retailers to alternative premises. I have also provided advice on the use of compulsory purchase powers as part of the overall development programme and managing variety of risks within the process.
