I’m an Associate in our Corporate Property Management team based in our Milton Keynes office.
I have more than 15 years’ experience in the retail and leisure sectors having worked with a wide range of clients including WH Smith, KFC, British Airways Pension Fund, MEPC, and have also worked at Intu as the Property Manager for Lakeside Shopping Centre.
Prior to joining Gerald Eve in May 2016, I worked for a property investment and management company specialising in managing commercial property assets on behalf of landlords in order to enhance property values, maximise rental income and ensure occupier retention. I qualified at Jones Lang LaSalle, specialising in Valuation and Retail Management, before moving to work client-side at Intu dealing with various shopping centres including Lakeside.
I currently act for WH Smith and Marriott Hotels.
MY RECENT PROJECTS
- WH Smith – I deal with the property management of half of the WH Smith UK portfolio liaising with Landlords, managing agents and neighbours for c 350 stores. I am responsible for the approval of all Landlord payments including insurance, service charge and rent. In addition, I have managed the process of obtaining Landlord consent for the installation of over 150 Post Offices into existing UK WH Smith branches. I also advise on lease considerations for any other ad hoc projects that WHS may be considering.
- KFC – I assisted KFC to obtain Landlord’s consent to the transfer of over 160 sites from KFC Ltd to their franchisees. This involved interpreting a very convoluted legal structure for Landlords and negotiating a deal acceptable to all three parties in a far shorter timescale than would have been managed without GE involvement.
- Gold Diamond / Marriott Hotels – I advise on the property management requirements of their 39 hotel portfolio. The properties range from city centre hotels to golf and country clubs. We deal with the surplus space and source sub-tenants who will add value by providing additional services to hotel guests. We also deal with the various telecoms operators in order to protect the asset and try and maximise income.
