Sophia Rees

Senior Surveyor

vCard

I am a Surveyor in our Planning and Development team based in our London head office in the West End. I am responsible for advising public and private sector clients across multiple disciplines, including planning, development, and valuation with experience covering both the commercial and residential sectors, predominately in London and the South East.

A qualified Chartered Surveyor, I joined Gerald Eve in July 2021, from the Development Consultancy team at BNP Paribas Real Estate. Since qualifying, I have been building up my experience in undertaking Financial Viability Assessments working on behalf of several private developers across varying schemes ranging from small residential developments through to large estate regeneration proposals.

I have previous experience within both Development Consultancy and Development Land Agency. My previous areas of practice focussed predominantly on strategic land valuation and option / promotion advice for national housebuilders such as Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon and Vistry on both an individual basis or as a consortium. This was often on complex multi-landowner schemes, with both public and private landowners involved.

MY RECENT PROJECTS

  • Now specialising within the field of development, I regularly undertake a range of valuations, provide development consultancy, advise on strategic land, and deliver financial viability assessments.
  • Currently, I am part of the Gerald Eve team advising on a complex scheme in East London which requires significant infrastructure commitments.
  • I have provided advice on a variety of transactions relating to development land and property on a national basis. This has included pre-marketing due diligence, marketing of land and properties, management of offers and liaising with legal advisors until completion.
  • Examples of this include a portfolio disposal for a blue light organisation across Wiltshire and disposal advice on behalf of Homes England in the South East. I have also provided disposal advice to private landowners such as CBRE GI and a Diocese body in the South West.
