Steve Sharman



I’m a Partner in our Research department and lead a team of research professionals who cover all aspects of UK commercial property. I have experience of all forms of UK commercial property research and oversee the production of research publications here at Gerald Eve.

I am a regular market commentator on UK commercial property performance and advise several landlords, developers, occupiers and investors on investment strategies and underlying market conditions. My experience is weighted towards the industrial sector and I’ve worked with the majority of leading landlords, investors and occupiers on their UK industrial property strategies.

We are the UK data provider to Prologis, the largest industrial property developer in the world. As a team, we provide quarterly updates on UK logistics property market performance and help inform them on local market conditions for individual investments or developments. We also work closely with other investors into UK logistics property including AEW and overseas REITs such as Equites.

As part of our multi-let industrial research, we have forged close relationships with 21 of the leading UK landlords of small industrial property. These include institutional investors such as ASI, M&G and Aviva, through to dedicated industrial REITS such as Segro and Stenprop. My team provides annual bespoke analysis on the industrial holdings of these companies.



  • Market reports – I produce several quarterly industrial occupational and investment market reports and offer insight into the UK logistics market through the release of the Prime Logistics quarterly bulletin. This provides an update on the UK’s occupational market, including activity and performance of logistics occupiers and a critical appraisal of recent investment activity and performance.
  • Publications – We produce other industry-focused publications including Investment Brief, which looks at all UK property performance by individual sector and provides clients with our house view on expected performance into the future.
  • Support for other teams – We regularly support our Occupier Agency and Capital Markets teams on specific projects by providing bespoke research and analysis to be used in support of transactions.
