I’m a Partner in our Lease Consultancy team. My caseload covers disputes and negotiations between commercial landlords and tenants, including rent reviews, lease renewals, lease restructures and s18 (dilapidations) valuations, primarily on office premises. I also take appointments as a fixed charge (LPA) receiver.

I’ve dealt with disputes on a wide range of properties but with a particular focus on office premises in London and the south-east. I’m an experienced expert witness having given and defended evidence in the High Court, County Court, arbitration oral hearings and at mediations. I am well-practised at helping a client to assemble a team of relevant experts to support their case and working with lawyers to prepare a case. I was voted one of the UK’s top-10 rent review surveyors in the poll by Property Week.

I’m an experienced arbitrator, and co-author of the current RICS guidance notes for surveyors acting as arbitrators and as independent experts.

As a fixed charge (LPA) receiver I have dealt with a wide range of properties and locations often having to asset-manage a property to add value before bringing it to the market for sale.

I regularly act for a broad variety of investors and occupiers.



  • Rent review, City of London office – I advised a major occupier concerning their rent review on their 800,000 sq ft office premises. The rent review was settled part way through arbitration proceedings involving lawyers, cladding experts, fit out consultants and M&E engineers.
  • Rent review, London West End office – I advised the landlord on the rent review of an 80,000 sq ft office building in London’s West End settling the rent review by negotiation well in excess of the landlord’s valuation.
  • Rent review, Surrey office – I advised the tenant on a 275,000 sq ft office campus in Surrey. The rent review had to be settled by recourse to an independent expert who awarded a nil increase.
