Clydesdale Bank Plc appointed us to determine whether 13 student accommodation buildings owned by the University of Brighton provided suitable security for lending purposes. Together the buildings comprise 764 student bedrooms; a mix of standard and ensuite accommodation.
We inspected the buildings, undertook extensive investigations of the assets including supply and demand characteristics of the local catchment and used our knowledge of the market to provide our opinion of market rent and market value.
We reported that based upon our investigations and valuations, the assets would provide acceptable security for lending purposes.
