UK commercial property update and outlook
Investment into UK commercial property was a respectable £13bn in Q3, with an annual total return of 13.4%. This was driven by ongoing momentum in the industrial market, though retail warehouse returns have also been rising sharply and were the strongest returning non-industrial segment in September. Consequently we expect UK retail in 2021 to not only have its first positive annual return since 2017, but also outperform offices this year.
