Emma Bailey

Current role: Assistant Surveyor, Building Consultancy & Lease Exit

Emma started with Gerald Eve as a work experience student in May 2018 after being referred by her Kingston university lecturer, who also happened to be a Gerald Eve employee.  After impressing the team and enjoying her studies as well as the work we were providing her with, we offered Emma a graduate position on the Building Surveying pathway.  Since then, Emma has rotated amongst the Building Consultancy, Project Management and Lease Exit teams and is due to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor in May 2022.

“Getting stuck-in is expected but I am always supported and actively included in complex and exciting projects.”

Lorelle Bascoe

Current role: Associate, Planning & Development

Lorelle joined the Gerald Eve’s graduate scheme in September 2014 and qualified two years later. As part of the rotational graduate scheme, Lorelle worked in the Commercial Valuation, Business Rates, Development and Corporate Property Management teams enabling her to work with numerous people and on a variety of projects. Upon qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor, Lorelle was offered a job in the Planning and Development team where she works on a range of interesting projects for many high profile clients.

“While studying and training for the APC, I was able to attend workshops and presentations both internally and externally to ensure I was fully prepared for the entire process.”

Oliver Chatwin

Current role: Assistant Surveyor, rotating graduate

Oli joined us after completing his MSc in Real Estate at Henley Business School, Reading University. After completing a work experience stint with Gerald Eve in our Offices Agency team in early January 2020, Oli subsequently attended our assessment day and joined the graduate programme in October 2020.  Oli is about to join his third team after completing 5 months with Industrial Lease Consultancy and 6 months with Capital Markets.  Oli has made the most of his sporting interests by setting up GEnergy, a competition across the firm encouraging people to work in teams to accumulate points by walking, running or some other form of exercise; and arranging 5 aside football.

“The experience of working for Gerald Eve has surpassed my expectations. I have thoroughly enjoyed my projects and responsibilities thus far, whilst relishing the sporting and social aspects of the firm.”

Rosanna Cole

Current role:  Planning Consultant, Planning & Development

Rosie joined Gerald Eve in Autumn 2018 as a Planning graduate, having graduated from Reading University earlier that year.  Halfway through her RTPI APC, Rosie decided she would like to become dual-qualified and has since enrolled to complete her RICS APC as well.

“Working as a graduate has given me exposure to a range of projects, including high-profile central London redevelopment schemes. This has provided me with a wide breadth of experience to contribute towards my APC.”

Ellie Crathern

Current role: Assistant Surveyor, rotating graduate

Ellie joined Gerald Eve in October 2020 within the Capital Markets – Industrial team.  Since then, Ellie has rotated into Industrial Lease Consultancy.  Ellie sites her reasons for joining us as really benefiting from meeting Gerald Eve representatives during both a university presentation and at our open evening, giving her the chance to get to know the firm better and how we matched her values and aspirations.

“People are at the heart of the business, and this really shows in the culture at Gerald Eve. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and helpful, and I look forward to coming into the office and seeing colleagues”

Charles Davey

Current role: Assistant Surveyor, Building Consultancy & Lease Exit

Charles joined the firm in January 2021 into our Building Consultancy and Lease Exit team after having completed his MSc in Building Surveying at Kingston University.  Charles is currently in a Building Surveying rotation, but will also progress through the Project Management and Lease Exit teams before submitting for his APC.

“Gerald Eve’s diverse clientele and service lines have given me the experience to take on instructions with aplomb. Moreover, a social sensibility is rewarded with a host of extra-curricular activities organised in and out of the business.”

Umama Haque

Current role: Assistant Surveyor, rotating graduate

Umama joined the firm in January 2021 into our Retail Lease Consultancy team.  Umama completed her degree in Real Estate from Birmingham City University and is now a valued member of the Gerald Eve team, fully contributing to graduate life and having joined the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee alongside other members of all levels of seniority.

‘The exposure and involvement to the world of professional property I have experienced since joining Gerald Eve has been phenomenal. Not to mention the rapport between colleagues of all levels of seniority and the atmosphere is entirely welcoming.’

John Logan

Current role: Senior Surveyor, Business Rates

John joined Gerald Eve as an Assistant Surveyor in the Glasgow office back in 2013.  He was a non-cognate graduate, so completed his BSc in Real Estate Management through the University College of Estate Management (UCEM) whilst working.  After completing the APC, John was pleased to achieve his MRICS status in Autumn 2019 and now specialises in property taxation.

“Working as a graduate in the Glasgow office allowed for early exposure to a variety of surveying disciplines whilst benefitting from working closely with clients on both a local and national level.”

Andrew Matthews

Current role: Associate, Capital Markets

Andrew Matthews originally joined Gerald Eve in 2014 to complete a placement year in our Leisure team. He returned to finish his university studies before coming back to Gerald Eve in September 2016 to continue his graduate rotations and APC studies. In Spring 2018 Andrew passed his APC first time and now works as an Associate in the Capital Markets team with a recent relocation to our Birmingham office in 2021.

“A placement year is a fantastic way of gaining hands on experience within a partner led firm, whilst also providing the possibility of a graduate position.”

Jessica Nutt

Current role: Senior Associate, Offices Agency

As a former Gerald Eve graduate herself, Jess knows our graduates are trusted and respected and are vital members of teams from day one.  In Jess’s role as a Agent, she speaks to clients and other agents on the phone on a regular basis, enabling her to develop her communication skills as well as gain a network of contacts in the industry and this makes certain aspects of the job, such as gaining comparable evidence, a lot easier.

“I love working for Gerald Eve and it is mainly to do with the people and the office atmosphere. It is clear that everyone working at Gerald Eve is like-minded and friendly and this makes it worth getting out of bed in the morning.”

Viviana Thurstan

Current role: Assistant Surveyor, rotating graduate

Viviana joined the firm in January 2021 as a non-cognate applicant.  Viv has an undergraduate degree in Politics with Sociology from Loughborough University; she has since gone on to study for her MSc in Real Estate at Kingston University alongside her work at Gerald Eve.  Viv’s first rotation has been spent in Residential Development Valuation and she will soon be joining our Capital Markets team.

“Gerald Eve has a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The work is varied and the four rotations mean that you have a wide range of experience when it comes to sitting your APC.”
